Warm sunny weather has finally given way after weeks of doubting when summer would arrive. The last few really kicked caddis hatches into high gear on the Firehole, with White Miller's as the most prevalent caddis species with several other smaller brown caddis also noted. Arrick's Foam Tan Caddis has been a top producer with Emergent Sparkle Pupa's as an excellent dropper. The Firehole will fish well into July with June having been such a cool wet month. The Madison below Quake is also starting to see some caddis hatches but dries aren't making fish take notice quite yet. Two to three weeks from now will have the attention of Madison River trout. Salmonflies have been hatching in the Beartrap Canyon with a few starting to show up around Ennis in the last few days. Nymphing has been best in the moring hours with Sili Stones and olive Serendipity droppers. Hebgen Lake has been a bit tough as of late but Callibaetis have been hatching in morning hours with an olive Hare's Ear on sinking lines as so far, the most effective. Henry's Lake continues to produce some real hogs for the diehard lake fishers with chironomids under an indicator as the most effective technique on Henry's so far this year.
